Venue des États-Unis, la pratique du Fact Checking consiste à vérifier systématiquement dans des organes de presse les déclarations de responsables politiques pour en établir la véracité. Cet article passe à son tour en revue un certain nombre de propos tenus dans la presse sur des thèmes relatifs au champ pénal pour les confronter aux données scientifiques existantes sur les sujets abordés.

Originating in the United States, the practice of « fact-checking » consists of systematically verifying in the press any declarations by those in positions of political responsibility in order to establish the truthfulness of them. This article reviews a certain number of remarks made in the press about themes relating to the penal field, so that they can be compared with scientific data which already exists on the subjects dealt with.
