Résumé : | Samuel R. Friedman introduces the concept of "sociopharmacology" as it relates to drug use. A sociopharmacological approach to drug use takes into account the particular social, economic, and political context in which drug use occurs. By using several examples, Friedman illustrates the importance of sociopharmacology in terms of its ability to explain drug use. He suggests that social order and social context, rather than the individual, represent the underlying "causes" of drug use. |
