Résumé : |
The aim of the paper is to compare the risk attitude of drug addict and non-drug addict persons. Are drug addicts more (or less) rational and risk seeking than others? We conducted an experimental investigation where some common patterns are tested: some are observed (for example, preference reversals) and others are not (Allais paradox). If we assume that the subjects are expected utility maximizers, drug addicts persons are not less rational than others; however. they are more risk seeking. This conclusion remains true if we relax the assumption of expected utility, considering three theories: rank-dependent, prospective reference and cognitive consistency. However, this last one is validated by the preference reversal questions while the others are not. (Author's abstract) |
