ENGLISH : This study debates on alcohol and drugs use in connection with the act of having unsafe sex. Most studies investigating wether and how alcohol and other drugs encourage unsafe sex tend to neglect the study of cognitions. Indeed, they suited to investigating the "perceived" pharmacological effect of drugs on sexual behaviour but few studies have attempted to document or study how such perceptions are socially or culturally organized (socialpharmacology). The study demands revisions in research methodology and theoritical frameworks towards the study of the "socialpharmacological" drug effects on sexual behaviour. The aim of it being a multimethod approach borrowing from epidemiology, sociology and anthopology. (From authors' abstract). |
