ENGLISH : Some surveys relate retention of drug dependence patients in treatment programs with their prognosis, so that those who stays higher than three months would be associated with improvement in the addictive behaviour or in other problematic areas. Under these considerations, the present survey describes the differences found in the psycho-social variables studied in a cluster of heroin dependence patients that applied for treatment in an outpatient program. The rate of retention after three months was 25%. Among the group of non-retention patients there is a greater proportion of drug polyconsumers, as well as a special way of putting conditions to their treatment and also drug requirements. Some explanatory hypothesis of these differences are discussed, paying special attention to the analysis of demands. |
