ENGLISH : Can reducing the "drug addict" to the status of "substance-abuser", even if the substances are illicit, be considered as symptomatic of his link with the social environment and certain so-called specialized practises ? For a neurotic patient faced with drug addiction, how can the dimension of the "subject" apply to these practises, when he is himself refusing to be a subject by resorting to drugs in order to defer his castration complex ? Is transference possible when the subject cannot help repressing his demand in favour of his need alone ? What about the psychoanalyst's wish, and the difficulty involved in supporting his offer of transference ? This difficulty arises from the fact that, in the psychic conflict, the root of the drug addiction is anterior to the symptom itself : not the affect of repression, but rather of a "psychotic moment" related to a "fixation". This is to preserve the enticing effect of possible satisfaction of his impulse, which is reduced to nothing more than a consumer product in his disavowal of others.(Author's asbtract). |
