Soixante sept patients hospitalisés en service de psychiatrie présentant des troubles comorbides liés à l'usage de drogues ont été évalués à l'aide d'une sous échelle de l'Alcohol Use Inventory : Problem Awareness and Readiness for Treatment. Les résultats montrent que l'appartenance au sexe féminin, une admission volontaire en traitement ainsi qu'un diagnostic de dépression majeure sont des facteurs associés à une meilleure prise de conscience et à une plus grande volonté à entreprendre un traitement.
ENGLISH :
The authors elucidated patterns of problem awareness and treatment readiness among hospitalized dually diagnosed patients by administering the Problem Awareness and Readiness for Treatment subscales of the Alcohol Use Inventory to 67 psychiatric inpatients with comorbid substance-related disorders. The results showed that female gender, voluntary admission status, and a comorbid diagnosis of major depression were associated with increased awareness and readiness for treatment.
