Résumé : |
Buprenorphine has some advantages over methadone, such as missing evidence for QTc prolongation, possible alternate day dosing, limited respiratory depression, and a lower risk of overdosing. A transition from methadone to buprenorphine can become necessary for many reasons. There is presently no standard protocol for transition from high-dose methadone to buprenorphine.
[…] The aim of this study was, therefore, to examine methods that could be used to give patients in higher dose methadone treatment the possibility to switch to buprenorphine without a prior reduction of the dose, decrease withdrawal discomfort, and keep the transfer time period as short as possible.
