Résumé :
ENGLISH :
Data from border cities show increases in the abuse of cocaine. Marijuana and alcohol abuse continue to be major problems. In 2000, 43.1 percent of patients in government treatment centers (GTCs) and 25.3 percent of those in nongovernment treatment centers (NGCs) reported cocaine as their primary drug. Among juvenile arrestees, 19.1 percent reported use of cocaine. Among treatment patients, alcohol continued to be the most frequently reported drug of first use (approximately one-third of GTC and NGC patients), followed by marijuana (21.3 and 31.5 percent of the GTC and NGC patients, respectively). Among juvenile arrestees, 20.5 percent reported use of alcohol and 38.1 percent reported use of marijuana. Medical examiner data show that alcohol is associated with 88 percent of reported deaths.
