Résumé :
ENGLISH :
Edmonton, Alberta, is a new participant in the Canadian Community Epidemiology Network on Drug Use. Data from several sources show that alcohol is the most frequently used drug in the area. Cocaine accounts for the second largest group in treatment and is the drug of choice among injecting drug users. Injection drug use is the most common risk factor for contracting HIV. In 1999, Streetworks exchanged 823,664 clean needles and served 6,245 clients. Among street youth, alcohol and marijuana are the most frequently used drugs. (Review' s abstract)
