ENGLISH : We study the anatomoclinical characteristics of 48 intravenous drug addicts (IVDAs) subjected to liver biopsy indicated by clinico-biologically suspect chronic hepatopathy. Distribution was : 47,91% active chronic hepatitis (ACH), 39,58% persistent chronic hepatitis (PCH), 8,33% evolving chronic hepatitis, 2,08% liver cirrhosis and 2,08% lobular chronic hepatitis. In turn, 87,5% of cases were positive to some serological marker of hepatitis B, while 39,58% were serologically infected. The histopathological lesion encountered bore no relation to the greater or lesser duration of addiction to heroin or to the presence of serologically manifest infection. (Author's abstract) |
