ENGLISH : As we enter the second decade of responding to HIV, our knowledge of its social and medical implications for women is still limited. This important book makes a new contribution to what is known. Presenting recent research from Britain and Ireland, the book offers a snapshot of prevalent social care responses to women in the context of HIV and drug use. It is concerned with how people involved in caring for women with HIV, either at home or in a range of services, are coping; and what women with the virus and members of the general public who have given it little thought, actually feel about AIDS and those who have it. The editors set these responses in the wider context of issues concerning women, drug use and HIV. |
