130 patients sous méthadone depuis 6 mois, ont fait l'objet d'un suivi sur un an dans des conditions expérimentales simplifiées définies comme suit: un contrôle urinaire une fois par mois, une visite médicale, des séances de conseil et la fourniture de méthadone deux fois dans le mois. Les trois quarts des personnes ayant participé à cette étude ont terminé l'année dans des conditions satisfaisantes. L'étude se poursuivra sur plusieurs années.
ENGLISH :
130 methadone maintained subjects with six months history of good treatment performance were assigned, for one year, to an experimental condition: once per month non-random urine screen, counseling session and doctor visit, two times per month methadone pick-up. 73% completed the year in good standing. The study continues and extends the experimental conditions to two years and over. (From authors' abstract).
