ENGLISH :
This article reports on the results of a training curriculum presented to 150 school personnel from 9 states. On the basis of participants' ratings of 26 sessions offered at two 36-hour residential training institutes, the neurochemistry of drug dependence, the philosophy of intervention and pharmacology, community networking and engaging families in prevention efforts, cross-cultural counseling and substance abuse intervention, and adolescent aftercare research were identified as key training areas for future school-community-university substance abuse prevention initiatives. It concludes that federal and state funds may assist some colleges and universities to provide substance abuse education and training for school personnel. In addition, colleges of education and universities should consider developing partnerships with local community agencies and school districts in order to provide education and training in the area of substance use and abuse.
