(D'après l'auteur) ENGLISH : A relatively high percentage of heroin addicts who received methadone is readmitted to another methadone program after terminating the first treatment. A group of 104 patients who was admitted only once was compared to a group of 425 who received more than one admission to a second treatment. Comparisons of groups show that demographic variables and variables of addiction history did not differ significantly. However, patients with two or more treatments, showed more acute physically and physiological problems and a slightly different pattern of reported drug use at time of the first treatment. The main difference was that a significantly higher proportion of patients with only one treatment was employed after four months of treatment. A better social integration lowers the risk of second admission in maintenance. (From authors' abstract) |
