The psychopathy checklist-revised (PCL-R) has been used extensively in American and Canadian forensic populations. The PCL-R has provided researchers in these areas the means to reliably assess psychopathy, an alternative to the DSM's diagnosis of antisocial personality disorder. The PCL-R has been shown to be reliable when used with male methadone patients.
