ENGLISH : The definition of chronic multiple handicapped dependents (CMD) proposed by a working group appointed by the German Federal Ministry of Health is analysed for its applicability by using two different samples of heroin addicts. This includes a gender specific analyse. The samples are heroin addicts in substitution treatment and heroin addicts in hospital. There was a high rate of CMD diagnoses within the sample of heroin addicts in substitution (64%) compared to the heroin addicts in hospitals (43%). In category 4: "social and legal situation" the non-CMD group show relatively high values. This could be due to a lack of a distinct definition of the single criterion within a criteria area. It could not be excluded that this criteria area could have been overvalued. In addition, gender specific differences are found. (From authors' abstract) |
