Dans les dernières années, l'hypothèse selon laquelle les dépendances pathologiques pouvaient représenter une sorte d'automédication a retenu l'attention de nombreux cliniciens et chercheurs travaillant sur le besoin irrépressible pathologique chez les alcooliques et les toxicomanes. Cet article fait un point sur les récentes études portant sur les corrélations cliniques de l'alcoolodépendance et des toxicomanies, et présente une approche thérapeutique bio-psycho-sociale de ces dépendances. Une attention particulière est portée à un traitement utilisant à la fois pharmacothérapie et psychothérapie.
ENGLISH :
In the last few years, the self-medication hypothesis of addictive disorders has focused the attention of many researchers and clinicians on the craving phenomenon in alcohol and substances abusers. This brief article provides an update on recent studies on the clinical correlates of alcohol and drug-dependence, and presents a contemporary, integrated bio- psycho-social therapeutical approach to alcohol and drug abuse. Particular attention is given to the possible integration of pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy in the treatment of alcohol and drug addiction. (Review's abstract)
