Résumé : | The Center for Education and Drug Abuse Research (CEDAR), funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse since 1989, has the overarching mission of delineating the origins and developmental pathways to Substance Use Disorder (SUD). This disorder is defined consensually as either abuse or dependence on any one of eleven classes of drugs according to the criteria set forth by the American Psychiatric Association. Whereas substantial research is currently devoted to elucidating the antecedents of substance use behavior, there is a dearth of comprehensive biobehavioral investigations directed at determining the etiology of the clinical condition of SUD.
