In the present text, we make an analysis of several more controverted topics related to the cocaine use. The discussion about the evidence or not of dependence among cocaine users, as the appearance of the withdrawal syndrome due to cocaine, that is developping during years by the scientific community. In this chapter we analyze the special characteristics of the cocaine addiction, at the same time are described the peculiarities of the whitdrawl of cocaine. Are analyzed the international diagnostic criteria, revising the scarce operativity of them, and we recomend clinical criteria more practics, and also a dynamic diagnostic of the processs that permits to understand the addiction and to planning the approaches. Finally, we revise the concepts of acute intoxication due to cocaine, distinguishing between intoxication by the own substance, and the intoxications due to contaminant factors, atmosphere and the way of administration, that add a high severity of the acute toxic reactions for cocaine use.
