ENGLISH : OBJECTIVES: To assess the adhesion of the general practitioners (GP) to the guidedelines on hypnotic's prescription. METHODS: Two studies have been done. A questionnaire detailing each hypnotic's prescription has been sent to 50 GP of Meurthe-et-Moselle. In the same time, 336 prescriptions including hypnotic have been chosen at random among all the prescriptions which have been received by the CPAM of Nancy, in april 1998. RESULTS: The analysis of the modality of prescription and consumption indicated that the prevalence of hypnotic consumers was 7% in Meurthe-et-Moselle with a majority of women and people older than 60 years. Incidence was 1% and 69% of the prescriptions were renewed since at least one year. Hypnotics related to benzodiazepine (Zolpidem and Zopiclone) were the most often prescribed. 7.5% to 9.5% of the prescriptions did not respected the guidelines. CONCLUSION: The guidelines were quite a lot respected. (Author's abstract.) |
