En novembre 2001, 1028 adolescents ou jeunes français âgés de 13 à 20 ans, représentatifs de la population nationale pour cette tranche d'âge, ont été interviewés à leur domicile sur leur rapport à l'alcool. Ce document reprend les principaux résultats de l'étude en matière de fréquences de consommation, de volumétrie, de types de boissons consommés, de lieux de consommation, de jours et motifs de consommation, d'ivresse, de consommation de tabac et d'évolution entre 1996 et 2001. Les facteurs protecteurs et facteurs de risque mis en évidence par l'enquête sont présentés. ENGLISH : In November 2001, we surveyed 102B young French people aged 13 -20 randomly selected in quotas equal to national proportions according to the latest official census. Open interviews with a questionnaire concerning already tested psychological and social items, formed the basis of our questionnaire and were conducted face to face at home.This questionnaire was tested on 40 adolescents before its more general use and gave us many data on life style and drinking habits of the interviewed.Young people were asked how often they performed different activities such as going to the movies or visiting friends of their home. Presented with a detailed list of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, they were asked whether or not they drank each and in what amount. The amount of alcohol intake was expressed in drinks per month (DPM), assuming that one standard drink contains 11g. of pure alcohol. This survey follows a former one conducted in 1996 and comparisons between the two samples are possible. We notice that the intakes of alcohol among young people remain stable (around 20 drinks per month). Behaviour of young people towards alcohol are presented (consumption, drinking patterns, influent factors) and also information on family life, school, and other behavioural factors.
