Résumé :
This report identifies key research gaps and priorities for addressing the recruitment and exploitation of young people into criminal drug networks across Europe. Drawing on evidence reviews and learning from the Safe Futures initiative, it highlights the need for stronger data, longitudinal and prospective research, implementation-focused evaluation and design-led, context-sensitive prevention and intervention approaches. [Editor's abstract]
To support future policymaking and investment in this area, the report sets out five recommendations:
- establish comparable definitions, core indicators and local monitoring partnerships;
- coordinate a co-produced, design-led intervention pilot that is prototyped, tested, adapted and refined in real time;
- invest in longitudinal research to better understand recruitment mechanisms and pathways so that interventions can be timed and targeted effectively;
- make implementation tracking a core focus of research; and
- build an EU-wide learning infrastructure to evaluate practice and share findings.
