Résumé :
The Research Brief on Transnational Organized Crime provides an analytical overview of the global state of knowledge on transnational organized crime (TOC) and presents policy considerations emerging from 25 years of UNTOC implementation.
The first chapter analyses the multidimensional manifestations and impacts of transnational organized crime and the second chapter describes how TOC can capture communities and institutions. Chapter 3 analyses the presence of TOC in a variety of illicit markets, while the fourth chapter explores how TOC increasingly exploits technology and global connectivity.
The Annex to the Brief is composed of 12 supplementary case studies that elaborate on TOC activities in different parts of the world, from South America and Europe to Southeast Asia, West Africa, the Pacific Islands and the Caribbean. [Editor's abstract]
