Résumé :
The report provides a regional analysis of the key trends and emerging developments of the synthetic drugs and NPS market as well as options for response in Latin America and the Caribbean. Over the past years, the synthetics drug market has experienced a massive expansion and diversification in the region and a rapid emergence of a wide range of NPS. Synthetic drugs are not anymore only a niche topic in the region as the latest developments confirm, such as an expanding methamphetamine market, the emergence of fentanyl manufacture and new trends of the MDMA market. Moreover, the report highlights that drug consumption preferences for hallucinogens in the region are not only reflected in higher prevalence rates, but also in the comparatively higher proportion of NPS with hallucinogenic effects.
