Does not the recent interest in female addiction find its origin in the interest of the mother? The failing mother, the abuser or abandoning mother, the mother who turns away from her child, the "dead mother" as named by André Green? The author having demonstrated that addiction was a passionate female self-treatment option due to trauma, questions the link between being a woman and being a mother through the reading of a clinical case.
