Over the last ten years, the French public policy on drugs has continued its transformation started a decade earlier towards a more comprehensive approach taking into account all addictions and pursuing the institutionalisation of the harm reduction strategy.
In relation to this, the purpose of this article is to analyse and compare the parallel evolutions of representations on the drug issues by politicians, media and the general public. To do so, we will analyse the results of the national Survey on the Representations, Opinions, and Perceptions on Drugs (EROPP) conducted in 1999, 2002 and 2008, as well as laws and regulations, parliamentary debates and media materials.
