Résumé :
OBJECTIVES. To compare the legal controls over the sale and supply of medicines in Europe. To investigate the degree to which community pharmacists were involved in Health Education about drugs liable to misuse. To investigate the degree to which community pharmacists were represented at local, regional and national level on bodies responsible for formulating policy about the misuse of drugs. SURVEY. An open style questionnaire was designed to elicit the optimum information. DATA GATHERING. Structured interviews were used in an attempt to categorise the relevant legislation in each of the countries under investigation, namely the United Kingdom (UK), Portugal (Pt), Spain (Sp), France (Fr) and Italy (It). Additional information was obtained from pharmacists representing West Germany (FG), Norway (NW), The Netherlands (NL), and The Republic of Ireland (RI), who were attending the 49th International Congress of Pharmaceutical Sciences (FIP) wich was held in Munich during September 1989.
