Résumé :
The feasibility of a tran-European network for monitoring drugs issues has been established on both technological and social-cognitive grounds. In the technological domain, it has been shown that centres throughout the European Community can be networked together in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Furthermore, in the social-cognitive domain, it has been demonstrated that the individual and institutional resources within the Community are more than adequate to ensure successful exploitation of the technology. This effective integration of instrumental and human networking will assure the realization of the EMCDDA's goals of faciliting information-sharing and cooperative activities in the drugs arena. Realization of these goals will, in turn, help to secure the long-term objectives of promoting the development of European policies on health-related drugs issues. [Abstract of the document]
