Résumé :
The Becker-Murphy model of addiction effect has been tested, either on specific surveys concerning smoking habits, or on a panel of American states. Both evidences do not facilitate replication and comparison between different sub-populations and countries. In this paper the test is conducted on a classic household expenditure survey, both on panel and pseudo panel data. Special instrumentations are tested. Results are conform to the theoretical predictions. (Author's abstract)
