Résumé :
Cannabis sativa, or kif, grown in large quantities in the Rif Mountains, is one of the chief cash crops in the area; although illegal, cultivation has flourished as a result of ecological and political factors that delimit the economic potential of northern Morocco. Cannabis serves as a stimulant among the Rif tribal groups and as a means of relieving daily pressure. Unlike drinking alcohol, smoking kif does not violate religious sanctions and the use of kif remains an integral part of the culture. (Author' s abstract)
