Résumé :
ENGLISH :
This chapter concentrates on one part of the world which has long gathered a reputation for merriment and festive excess. The area in question is Brittany, in the western part of France, which has regularly received the symbolic accolade of the most heavily drinking, drunken and alcoholic area. This is an image which seems to have gained a firm foothold in the nineteenth century, and it has persisted since. (Extract of the publication)
