L'apparition du concept d'addiction dans la psychopathologie implique que nous prenions en compte l'étymologie de ce terme ancien très usité de nos jours, que nous fassions état de son évolution à travers ses mutations historiques, que nous retenions ses principales définitions et caractéristiques et que nous explorions le champ d'application de ce concept. Nous illustrons nos propos par le tabagisme, addiction peu étudiée en psychopathologie, en nous centrant plus particulièrement sur sa place dans la nosologie et sur ses rapports avec les autres troubles. ENGLISH :
The adoption by psychopathology of the concept of addiction has several implications: 1) the consideration of the etymological origins of the word addiction and its current overuse; 2) the examination of its meaning in historical and evolutive features; and 3) the recognition of its principal definitions, together with their idiosyncratic differences, in the investigation of its conceptual application. This study seeks to illustrate these issues through an in-depth examination of nicotine addiction - a disorder that has been broadly neglected in psychopathological research - by focusing on its nosological position in relation to and its links with other disorders.
