Dans deux centres de traitement pour toxicomanes où 14 % des patients sont séropositifs et 1 % ont le Sida, on compare l'état psychique des séropositifs et celui des séronégatifs. Au début du traitement, il y a peu de différence. On note une amélioration significative de l'état psychologique des séropositifs au cours du traitement, vraisemblablement due au suivi particulier dont ce groupe fait l'objet. Une brève description des psychothérapies indiquées pour ce genre de patients est donnée dans l'article.
ENGLISH :
In two centres for treatment of drug addicts, 14 % of the patients were HIV-positive and 1 % of the patients had Aids. The psychological state of the HIV-positive patients was compared with that of a parallel group of HIV-negative patients. At the beginning of treatment there was hardly any difference between the two groups. The rate of premature termination and the average duration of therapy were the same for both groups. The significant improvement in the psychological state of the HIV-positive patients in the course of treatment is possibly due to the additional therapy this group received. A brief description is given of the psychotherapy designed for the HIV-positive patients. (Extract from author's abstract)
