L'auteur donne une revue synthétique des notions actuelles de sevrage en trois parties : physiopathologie (altération des potentiels de membranes, GABA, canaux calciques, catécholamines, dopamine, sérotonine, récepteurs d'endorphines, effets indirects), pathogenèse (perte de fonctionnalité de GABA, altération de l'équilibre électrolytique, troubles du sommeil, troubles digestifs et nerveux) et démarche à suivre (entourage, nursing, stress, soutien psychologique, clonidine).
ENGLISH :
This review will concentrate on the contributions medical science, in particular pharmacology and electrophysiology, have made to the understanding of withdrawal states and so will look mostly at the first element in withdrawal. Behavioural and emotional issues will be dealt with in the section on management. (Author's abstract)
