Le modèle médical du traitement de la toxicomanie s'est développé ces dernières années, parrallèlement aux changements de paradigmes. On vise plutôt à une réduction de la déchéance et à une prévention de la transmission du sida. L'approche socio-pédagogique reste importante, mais limitée, alors que les besoins en compétences médicales sont plus importants et que les médecins y sont mal préparés.
ENGLISH :
The impact of the traditional socio-pédagogical approach on the treatment of the addictions seems nowadays to be very important but at the same time rather limited, while there is a growing need for medical actions and medical competence. Otherwise the medical system is not well equipped to fulfill these needs. It is confronted with new possibilities and new tasks but also with new responsibilities in the realms of practice, research and education. (Extract from the author's abstract)
