La première conférence nationale sur la méthadone a rassemblé à Boston des experts nationaux et internationaux. L'impact du sida et de la guerre du Golfe sur l'économie, incitent à unir les efforts et repenser les stratégies pour trouver des traitements efficaces, de la toxicomanie. Le rapport souligne les bénéfices et les limites de la méthadone.
ENGLISH :
The first "National Methadone Conference" was particularly memorable because the conference was broadened by bringing together national and international experts to adress the most challenging issues in methadone treatment. With the impact of AIDS and Gulf war straining a poor economy, we now, more then ever before, must unify our efforts and rethink our strategies to improve effective treatment for substance abusing patients. This report highlights the regional and national handlings and limits of methadone maintenance treatment. (Extract from author's abstract)
