Le canton de Bâle a intégré, dès 1980, la substitution dans l'éventail des traitements proposés aux toxicomanes. Plus de 800 patients en bénéficient actuellement. La typologie du traitement à long terme est basée sur les données de 500 patients, suivis par les mêmes personnes au cours de la prise en charge. C'est une méthode flexible, réalisable économiquement et hautement personnalisée, qui peut contribuer à la réduction de la consommation illicite et à ses effets indésirables.
ENGLISH :
The treament of patients who are dependent on opiates has definitely been including drug substitution besides withdrawal and weaning in Basel since 1980. More than 800 patients were presently receiving substitution treatment . The type of long term treatment is illustrated by socio-demographic and treatment data of 500 substituted individuals who are mostly being looked after always by the same persons entrusted with caring for them. This represent a flexible,economically feasible and highly individual type of care and treatment that can help to reduce illegal drug consumption and hence the undesirable events associated with it.
