Le programme Village Souths Families In Transition (FIT) à Miami, Floride, a été mis au point pour que ces femmes réduisent leur consommation d'alcool et autres drogues, modifient leur comportement d'assistées sur le plan social et médical, augmentent leur savoirfaire dans le domaine professionnel et sachent élever leur enfant et entrer en relation avec lui ; enfin ce programme vise à mettre au point des interventions et des actions préventives pour les enfants de ces patientes, dans un environnement sain et positif.
ENGLISH :
The Village South Families in Transition (FIT) in Miami, Florida, implemented a residential treatment program for women and their children that aims to decrease alcohol and other drug use, reduce reliance on social and health welfare systems, improve functioning in specific like-skill and vocational areas, improve parenting techniques and maternal/child relations, and provide intervention and prevention services for the client's children in a safe and supportive environment. This article describes some critical decisions faced by treatment staff as they modify traditional clientcentered programs into gender-specific and family-centered programs.
