15 patients dépendants de la nicotine et cocaïnomanes ont participé à un essai en double aveugle, contre placébo, où ils recevaient 21 mg de nicotine sous forme de timbre. Le timbre nicotinique diminue significativement le manque de cigarettes sans avoir une incidence sur leur consommation. Son effet sur le manque dû à la cocaïne n'est pas significatif par rapport au groupe placébo.
ENGLISH :
The authors observed the effect of transdermally administration nicotine on the drug craving of 15 patients with nicotine dependence and recent cocaine abuse. Transdermal nicotine and placebo patches were applied in a crossover, double-blind design, and outcome was assessed by visual analog scales to measure drug craving. Nicotine patches significantly reduced craving for cigarettes without affecting cigarette use. There was a nonsignificant trend for nicotine patches to reduce cocaine craving more than placebo patches. (Authors' abstract)
