Les effets résiduels du cannabis sont à distinguer des effets aïgus, des effets sur les toxicomanes lourds et des effets d'amplification des troubles psychiatriques préexistants. Dans un délai de 12 à 24 h suivant la consommation de cannabis, il y aurait des effets résiduels sur l'attention, la psychomotricité et la mémoire à court terme. Rien ne permet encore d'affirmer qu'il n'existe pas d'effet toxique sur le système nerveux central après élimination de tous les métabolites.
ENGLISH :
Evidence for the residual neuropsychological effects of cannabis must be separated from evidence regarding the acute effects of the drug, attributes of heavy cannabis users and actual psychiatric disorders caused or exacerbated by cannabis. We reviewed the literature, comparing both "drug-administration" studies and "naturalistic studies". The data support a drug residue effect on attention, psychomotor tasks and short-term memory during the period 12-24 h after cannabis use. Evidence is unsufficient to support or refute either a more prolonged "drug-residue" effect or a toxic effect on the central nervous system that persist after drug residues have left the body.
