Une étude faite sur 140 toxicomanes hospitalisés permet de montrer que la plupart d'entre-eux souffrent de malnutrition (déficit en calories et en protéines). Cette malnutrition est plus importante chez les femmes, suit l'intensité de la toxicomanie et la perturbation des liens familiaux et sociaux. Une pathologie organique aggrave ce statut nutritionnel.
ENGLISH :
140 addicts without acute organic pathology and 18 with acute organic pathology were studied. Many addicts suffer from calories and protein malnutrition. This malnutrition is related to female sex, intensity of drug addiction, anorexia and poor food and drink consumption, and disturbance of the social and familial links. Acute organic pathology leads to a significant worsening of the nutritional status of drug addicts. (From authors' abstract)
