Ce chapitre fait une brève synthèse sur les travaux récents de clonage des récepteurs opioïdes et sur l'utilisation qu'ils ont permis d'outils de la biologie moléculaire dans l'exploration de la structure et la fonction de la membrane des récepteurs opioïdes. Les auteurs rapportent les résultats d'une étude qui a abouti à l'isolation d'une proteine qui semble jouer un rôle dans les fonctions du récepteur opioïde.

The very recent reports of successful cloning of an opioid receptor have finally brought the field to the point where the highly sophisticated tools of molecular biology can be used to explore opioid receptor structure and function. This article reviews this work and its implications as well as its relationship to the authors' studies on isolation of a protein that seems to play some role in opioid receptor function.
