Un jeune de 25 ans est admis en service d'urgence après avoir consommé 4g de MDEA (Methylène dioxyéthylamphetamine ou Eve) et 12g d'héroïne. En dépit de la concentration sérique très élevée des deux drogues, le patient ne présente pas les signes et les symptômes habituels des intoxications avec ces produits. Un traitement symptomatique suffit à le guérir. Il est possible que les propriétés pharmacologiques opposées de l'héroïne et de la MDEA aient empêché le décès.
ENGLISH :
A case of oral ingestion of large doses of both amphetaminederivative 3,4-methylene dioxyethamphetamine (MDEA) and heroin is reported. Despite high serum levels of both drugs, the patient did not present with the classic signs and symptoms normally seen during intoxication with these drugs. The patient recovered after symptomatic treatment. The possibility that opposite pharmacological properties of the two drugs prevented the patients death is discussed. (Authors' abstract)
