Les résultats d'une étude pilote portant sur onze consommateurs d'héroïne socialement intégrés révèlent que ces derniers ne maintiennent pas leur intégration sociale en dépit de leur consommation d'héroïne, mais grâce à elle. C'est en appliquant quotidiennement des stratégies en égard à leur propre corps, à l'argent, à la stigmatisation et au stress de la consommation de drogues qu'ils arrivent à combiner une consommation d'héroïne régulière et un mode de vie conventionnel. Ces personnes décrivent leur rapport à l'héroïne comme étant de nature contrôlante/contrôlée dans le cadre d'une vie qui les mène à se retirer du monde et à consommer de l'héroïne pour s'adapter aux exigences d'une société basée sur les performances. ENGLISH :
The results of a pilot study of eleven socially integrated heroin users reveal that they maintain their social integration because of and not in spite of their heroin consumption. They manage to combine their regular use of heroin with a conventional life style by using everyday strategies in the way of handle their own body, their money, the stigmatisation and the stress of drug use. Those interviewed describe a controlling/controlled use of heroin within the context of a life style that leads to an individual withdrawal from the world and a use of heroin that allows them to adapt to the demands of an achievement oriented society.
