La phencyclidine (PCP) provoque, entre autre, une hypertension souvent impliquée dans les intoxications mortelles aiguës à ce produit. Cette étude évalue le mécanisme en utilisant des agents adrénergiques bloquants. L'augmentation de l'activité sympathique joue un rôle dans les effets cardiovasculaires de la PCP, mais d'autres systèmes interviennent également.

Hypertension is one of the major factors involved in deaths associated with acute PCP intoxication. The present study evaluated the mechanisms involved in the pressor effect of PCP using different adrenergic blocking agents. the data suggest strongly that both enhanced sympathetic activity and a complex array of other systems play a role in the cardiovascular effects of PCP.

Cette étude évalue le mécanisme en utilisant des agents adrénergiques bloquants.
