Cette étude décrit la méthode ARISE (Albany-Rochester Interventional Sequence for Engagement). Une intervention en trois étapes, commençant lorsqu'un membre de la famille ou un proche contacte un centre de traitement pour un dépendant ayant besoin d'aide. A ce point du processus, une collaboration s'instaure avec le proche dans le but d'enrôler le dépendant. Toute la méthode est conçue pour maximiser la probabilité de recrutement du patient et pour minimiser le temps et l'énergie demandés à l'équipe. Elle est favorablement comparée avec d'autres approches comme la coercition et celle où le patient est le seul référent.
ENGLISH :
The ARISE method (Albany-Rochester Interventional Sequence for Engagement) is described. A three stage interventional sequence is presented, which begins when a family member or concerned other contacts a treatment program regarding a substance abuser who need help. At that point a process is set in motion for collaboration with significant others toward client enrollment. The overall procedure is designed to maximize the probability of patient recruitment, while minimizing the amount of time and energy required of staff. The method compares favorably with results obtained with other approaches, such as coercion and client self-referral. (From Authors' abstract)
