Abrahanm et Torok ont opposé introjection - c'est-à-dire l'élaboration psychique - et "magie incorporative" - conséquence et compensation de l'echec de l'introjection. Dans certains cas, la toxicomanie pourrait relever de la magie incorporative. Abraham and Torok distinguished between introjection - i.e. psychic elaboration - and "incorporative magic" - the consequence of and the compensation for the failure of introjection. In certain cases, toxicomania could be a form of incorporative magic. Two etiopathogenic areas are explored: that of personal traumas, in the course of which corporal integrity has been violated, and that of the transgenerational history of these traumas.
