A partir d'une étude européenne sur la prévention primaire de l'abus de substance et de son évaluation, on discute de l'adaptation des stratégies préventives au cadre et au contexte. La comparaison de la philosophie prohibitrice et moralisatrice des Etats Unis avec diverses approches européennes amène à conclure que l'Europe doit trouver sa propre voie, en adaptant les mesures préventives à ses habitudes et à ses caractéristiques culturelles.
ENGLISH :
The results of a European collaborative study on primary prevention of substance abuse and its evaluation are used as a starting point for the discussion of the context dependency of preventive actions. From a comparison of the socio-cultural frame of primary prevention especially focusing on the overall attitudes concerning substance use and the theoritical and philosophical background of the primary prevention system in the United States with some European approaches and their socio-cultural boundaries, the conclusion is drawn that Europe should find her own way respecting her own cultural characteristics.
