L'article présente les statistiques d'exportation des principaux pays producteurs de coca: Bolivie, Pérou, Java, Formose, de la fin du XIXème siècle au début du XXème. La cocaïne y était la plupart du temps produite légalement et en fonction de la demande du marché. Les quantités exportées ont augmenté jusqu'en 1920, puis ont diminué dans les dix années suivantes. Pendant cette période, la consommation s'est répandue en Amérique du Nord, puis en Europe, suivie d'un déclin de la popularité de la drogue.
ENGLISH :
This paper compiles records of coca exported by the major producing sites, Peru, Bolivia, Java, Formosa, from the late 19th century through the first third of the 20th century. During most of this era, coca was legally produced and responsive to market demands. World coca exports did not rise until around 1920, followed by a steady decline over the next decade. This export pattern suggest a period of rising cocaine consumption, peaking regionally first in North America, then in Europe and other parts of the world, followed by a market decrease in the drug popularity and acceptance.
